I've heard theories that are the exact opposite of what your saying. Wasn't the theory at one time that if you caught a fish and let it go it would educate that "stupid" fish and therefore would make it harder to catch? I think a lot of people fishing in heavily pressured catch and release streams and rivers would disagree with your theory. I don't know how many times I've read about how fish in the old days were easier to catch because there wasn't so much fishing pressure and alot of anglers didn't practice catch and release. I believe you are over thinking this a little. Oh and I suppose the stream I fish with native brook trout in it should be stocked with a smarter hatchery raised fish becuase we all know how stupid brookies are.
