    Default Patterns: Buck Tails

I recently received a few dyed (red, yellow, orange, black, purple, green) buck tails in addition to some backing I bought.
Being new to tying, what are some fresh-water patterns I can make from these tails. I will make some clousers for my surf fishing for small halibut but aside from this pattern I have no idea what to do with these.
Fresh water fishing includes mainly trouting but once in a blue moon steelheading.
    Thanks friends.

First off Mickey finns and black nose dace patterns come to mind as great trout streamers using bucktail. I use alot of bucktail in pike flies as well.

Generally you can easily come up with many of your own successful bucktail streamer patterns. I tend to tie baitfish patterns and attractor patterns with bucktail.

Buck tail also makes great tailing material on gurglers, and wiggle bug pike and bass flies. It's a great material and leades itself to many creative patterns.

It's hair and not hollow ....use it wherever you want to...don't limit yourself to just what patterns say.

Don't forget that smaller clousers catch trout.

I'll have to try some of those patterns and maybe come up with a few too!
    Thanks!
