    CC and Chewy,

How AWFUL that you'd go someplace like WalMart to get something you want at a reasonable price!

All you are doing is feeding huge coporate greed and depriving a hard working 'small retailer' of your hard earned dollars that HE deserves to have....

    Shame, shame, shame!!!

No one should buy tinsel or anything else at WalMart that may have some value or use to a fly tyer. Spend ALL that money at your local fly shop or via mail order.

Want to make sure some is left at WalMart for me when I get there.....

Thanks for the laugh guys, I needed that.

    Wow,
I was in a Dollar Tree Store today....

They have Holographic Tinsel...500 strands /card/..21 inches long...huge supply

5 colors /card /$1....all the colors would be useful...I had already checked out or I might have bitten but if the truth be known I've got plenty anyway....and I may still go back....

I have to believe that all fly shops are owned by wealthy fly fishermen who just want to provide a place for cheap fly tyers to stop by, drink the free coffee, and talk about where the best deals on tying materials are at. Of course, we buy our strike indicators at the fly shop to show our support for them.

I once picked up a whole skien of olive chenille at Joanne Fabrics for one of the local shops for $1.99, and he carded it for $.99 for 15'. Said it was cheaper than buying from HIS supplier. It happens on both sides of the fence.

I buy some things at the local shops just because I feel guilty for getting great deals at other places. Must be my parochial upbringing. LMAO

You guys can laugh all you want, try going to W Mart and getting good advice. If the shops go out of business and move then we will hear the crying.

    Support your shop
