Default Back? On Flashback Hairs Ears

What material are you useing for the back on the flashbach hairs ear? It looks like pear flashabou, but my flashabou is to narrow and using several strands looks cheap.

I use pearl mylar tinsel. This time of year your local big box store (Meijer, Wal-mart, etc.) should have truckloads of it in the Christmas decoration section. It comes loose in bags. You can also get it on spools at a fly shop (or online).

I use the tinsel as well on my copper john's and it works great.

I use mylar tinsel. It comes in small, med, large and maybe even x-large. I use medium most of the time.

I use Mirage Tinsel by UTC, available thru fly shops on spools in small, medium & large. It's also available in sheets. Here's a fly using this product for a body instead of dubbing. The picture doesn't do the material justice because I don't know how to use my digital camera properly. It's highly reflective and shows a wide spectrum of colors.

Here's a Flashback PT. I need to take a class for this camera.

    Hope this helps

I use saltwater Flashabou (at least twice the size of regular flashabou), cover with a tad of Loon's UV Knot Sense, shine the UV light on it for several seconds and you're in business.

In size #10 it becomes Joe Hyde's "Old Reliable". In size #14 it's "Young Reliable".

    Good stuff!

Yep. The Christmas iridescent mylar tinsel when I can find it. Otherwise I just cut small strips off of an iridescent mylar gift wrap paper sheet that I normally use for Crease Flies.
