So you want to know why this is one of the Top places in America to fish, well besides the vast amounts of fish here (80,000 in the 1st 3 1/2 miles)and the growth rate, the weather seems to always be perfect when we're there!

What a great time we had fishing the Juan starting out on the top stretch just south of Andy's island where a late breakfast proved to
be a bad call the first day due to 50 people already packed into this stretch.

Didn't take long for us to find some water without a long backcast and soon were onto fish. We fished mostly the first day in the upper
strecthes down to the braids. Many of the fish landed were decieved by sizes 24-26 UFO's, Rojo's, Desert storms, black beauty's,
Griffeth gnats, San Juans variety of thread midges and as it got later I cranked out quite a few on a cone Black bugger deep.

After an awesome day out a few over 20" by us it was time for a Big burger and cold one :toast: at the Sportsman. The next day we ventured down
to Lunker Alley for a hideout from the masses and had the place to ourself for about an hour 1/2! Little slow starting out after my buddy
caught 1 on a White streamer it started to pick up and me as well as another friend noticed a rise in bug activity.

The crowds & guides showed and so did the fish because between 11-3 bugs covered the water and between the size 30 midges and chocolate
wing Bwo's it was on. The thing about the SJ is you can stay in 1 spot the entire day and be content on catching fish or mover around,
well I stayed put -stubborn to catch the sippers in front of me and it paid off. After various patterns a #24 parachute adams followed
by a #22 BWO dropping a #22 hares ear/RS2 proved deadly for awhile. Many other patterns for the 3 of us ranged again from anything small to a
fat #10 Dead Chicken.
