Thanks, Steven, for making the case for credit unions. I had meant to write something on this thread earlier but work got in the way.
I have been a member of a credit union since 1969 and I am only 37(less than 1 year old when my father opened my account) This is my 3rd year of my first term on the board of directors on which I am the secretary and a committee chairman. Directors are strictly volunteers and recieve no compensation for their time and effort.
Credit unions are all the things you have touted and more. Ask a bank if they cover fraud on a debit card, if they do they are the exception. We cover debit cards the same as credit cards, as a service to our members.
I am up for election this month for another term and hopefully I will be re-elected. I am proud of our credit union and the service we provide our 15,000+ members.
