I'm not sure how many of you were aware, but we recieved a major winter storm, here in Western New York State. It started on Thursday and dumped close to two feet of snow across the region. The heavy, wet snow toppled trees and power lines and left almost half a million people without power. Our landscape has been destroyed. It looks as though a tornado tore through the area. We had many old, tree, lined streets and parks, which will take many years to recover. Homes were damaged by falling trees, and flooded basements. People were stranded on the NYS Thruway, some as long as, 11 hours. At least, three deaths were blammed on the storm.
