I decided to treat myself to a pair of Orvis Pro Guide breathable waders so I could extend my fishing season a bit. This weekend I was up in Vermont and stopped at the Orvis tent sale. Tal about about a score-- they were selling refurbished waders for $49.

Sizes were hit or miss, but I walked out with a pair of Pro Guides, my wife found a pair of Endura's that were a perfect fit, and my buddy found a pair of Tailwaters that fit him.

When asked why the sold them so cheap when the could probably get more, the Orvis salesman replied "People don't want to deal with refurbished clothing. They don't want something that someone else has worn." No warranty on my "new" waders, but the $240 that remained in my wallet will suffice!

They also had some pretty good rod deals (30-40% off), but I decided on my next rod I'd rather pay the full price and get the 25 year no-questions warranty.

Dangerous, dangerous place, that tent sale.
