Brookies are starting to spawn in a few tribs.
Been chasing steel again, but looks like this weekend I can head up to the Gunpowder for brownies!
Nice work, Zach. Glad to see your effort is paying off.

Cool. Im gonna go harass em with eggs this week.
Hey Mike,
That's the only way I can catch more rainbows than browns up there - eggs.
Let me know if you want to check out some places this weekend...
Marty
Im down for Saturday morning I think.
Anyone been up to Gunpowder lately? I might try to get a good day on the water this week.
Egg patterns? Is that something I can pick up at Backwater Angler? Do I fish them dry or submerged?
Thanks again guys, you have been an invaluable resource! A few months ago I was just getting back into this and now I can actually catch fish on the fly!
Zach
It was slow, slow, slow this past weekend. There were redds everywhere and no fish on them which means the spawn is done. The fish werent back to chasing streamers around yet and I didnt realize I was out of indicators so I did no nymphing. Swung some wets with no results. I found some dinks working on midges but, despite multiple fish coming up on a few diferent patterns, I could not get a hook into them.
Id say eggs are a good bet, you cant go wrong with the spaghetti and meatball (egg and san juan worm) rig this time of year.
