I just returned from the Idaho Fish-In where I had the opportunity to cast a few boo sticks. I had also recently finished building a bamboo rod from sections of several broken rods. I think one was a Montague Flash, another was a Southbend 59, and the other is unknown. It turn out to be a 7' 6 weight, 3 piece, with lots of backbone and a flex tip. I've been lawn casting it with a 5 weight Sylk, but it handles a 6 much better. The good news is that at the Fish-In I managed to Christen it with a beautiful 12" Westslope Native Cutthroat. What a thrill. I just wanted y'all to know.
