What is considered THE temperature that trout find optimal?

I would say the answer to your question is in the post by Jed earlier in the thread above...

I saw that Mac...,"Trout can exist comfortably in water up to 70 degrees, Bass can exist in water down to 65 degrees. A body of water that is between 65 and 70 degrees can support both kinds of fish."

I'm thinking he's saying in what ranges they "exist"...what I'm after is the best temp for trout....seems to me I saw this somewhere?????? Pretty sure trout like temps less than the 65 degrees mentioned.

I am in agreement with you on that. I beleive the top to fish them in around 68 and but optimum is around 65...dont quote me on that but I have seen that posted somewhere or read it somewhere.. just my .02 worth...
