This really hits home for me.
Born in NZ, yank father, kiwi mother.
Mother was Scottish surnamed and when a family tree was done on the NZ side, turned out all except two (my grandfather, Scottish, and great grandfather, German, and from the states no less) were Irish.
Father was a Spanish surnamed Irishman, and very Irish they were. A lifetime of explaining how we
were Irish (158even with the Spanish name.
And now this. Makes for great bar talk, but I don't drink. Broke that chain.
