I think it is. You have to remember that the less hooks one buy's at a time the more you will normally pay for them. You always get your best prices buying in Bulk. I think that was a pretty good price. Ron

If they were Mustad Classics you MAY have overpaid since they can be very reasonable when you buy by the hundred. I swear they are about the same price they were when I started tying 20 years ago.

The Mustad Signature hooks are a different story and are more expensive.

If they were Japanese hooks like Daiichi, Tiemco, DaiRiki; or were Mustad Signature, I'd say you did great!! $.11 a hook or $11.00 a hundred is a great price for premium hooks for the average guy, (like me), who buys by the 100.

If you catch 25 fish off each hook they are worth every penny.
If you catch 25 branches. Not so much

I bought 20 hooks from Ron Lucas last week and paid $6.50 each....and after 35 years of fly tying I think I got a GREAT deal. Sometimes things said on a message board sound insulting when they wouldn't in person so here's my disclaimer, I mean no disrespect, but at $2.75 for 25 hooks, honestly....how can you go wrong.

Not to rob the thread but since Mustad Sigs have been mentioned AND they're getting to be some of my most favorite hooks, I'd like to share a find with you.

Ebay has some Mustad Sigs on sale for cheapo prices...

I just bought $80 worth!
