Au Sable River Michigan

Fishing was slow last week. Trico's size 20 and down, BWO's 20 - 22 and Ants seemed to be the best fly's. When I arrived on the 8th the water temp. was close to 70 but a few very cool nights had it down to 60 in a few days.
No White Fly hatch to speak of!?

Jack, I'll vouch for the BWO's, they turned the fish on something fierce Saturday morning, but it was quickly over.

Pheasant Tails on the Au Sable, Hare's Ears on the Manistee (below 72) also produced some fish for us.

Didn't nab any big fish (spooked a few with mice at night on the Manistee though) and though the fishing was tough in the beginning it sure seemed to pick up some later in the week.
Sometimes beauty makes up for size!
