Thread: Perfect Fishing Shirt?

    Default Perfect Fishing Shirt?

I am looking for a fishing shirt.

    These are the requirements:

    100% synthetic material (no cotton)
    Lightweight fabric
    Vented design
big front pockets for fly boxes
    smaller front pockets for accessories
long sleeves with tabs for rolling them up
d-ring on the back yoke for holding a net

After a bit of searching, I actually found the perfect shirt at Cabelas, their "Ultimate Guide Shirt" Sadly, it has been discontinued and is no longer available.

Does anyone know of a similar shirt with these features?

    Thanks

I've got a number of lightweight, synthetic, vented shirts. None of mine would comfortably support a net hanging off the back cape. Are you sure that's an accessory you need?

    Kai,

Have you called Cabela's and to try and learn where it was made or by whom?

I found this with a search. Maybe what you want?

I have one of the Cabela's shirts and it is great. Also have two Field and Stream shirts that I got at Sierra Trading Post that look better, but don't have quite as much carrying capacity.

LL Bean has some very nice styles. I personally like their warranty - "100% guaranteed forever". Their warranty isn't a joke either - I called to order a new jacket to replace one that I just slap wore out, they insisted on just sending me a brand new one for FREE! I told the lady that I wore it out on my own - washing, wearing, chewing, etc. and she still insisted that I was going to wear another one at no charge. A few of their shirts have the "Buzz Off" bug protection, too - if interested.

    Hope this helps!

Have you ever carried your net on the d-ring?

MIne doesn't have a d-ring on the back. Front has two large bellows pockets, each with a horizontal small zippered compartment near the bottom, plus tow largish vertical zippered pockets. It may be an earlier version of the one you seek.

    I believe the Cabela's [url=http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=c0012170901348&type=product&cmCat=sear ch&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=fishing+shirt&N=4887&Ntk=Pr oducts&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=fishing+shirt&n oImage=0:bdec8]Guidewear Supplex[/url:bdec8] would fit the bill. I THINK this is a current product.

In any case I have one and it has deep usable pockets and some zipper closure pockets too, something lacking on the Columbia shirts I had before.

    Default Columbia Sportswear

    Kai,
You might consider one of these shirts from Columbia Sportswear. I have one and really like it. It is however, made of cotton.
