On Wednesday of last week I mailed my reel to Cortland Line Co. for repair. I sent it cushioned in some balled up newspaper and included the $10 for shipping and handling that I was told would be the total cost. Yesterday, Monday, the reel was delivered. Not only was it repaired, the company even returned it in a new reel pouch. Now I know the pouch is just some inexpensive corderoy material but the company didn't have to include it. By the way, I've had this reel for about 20 years so it's certainly passed the warranty period.

So I have to give a big KUDO to the Cortland Line Company for standing behind its product, going beyond the turnaround time, making the repair and the overall customer service that was expected.
