    Default Black Hills trout

Fished Spearfish Creek Sat & Sun. Hare's Ear with indicator brought in several fish. Hit a stonefly hatch...two might still be up my nose!

No, no, no! You must be mistaken! There are NO trouts in ANY of the waters in South Dakota! NO ONE needs to go to SD! Ever. Ugly, ugly land. Hideous people. And most inparticular NO TROUTS!

Just out of curiosity, what part of Spearfish Creek did you hit? I brought a few Browns to hand up down in Custer State Park at the Coolidge Trail stock ponds.

ummmm...dmbfan...there's good fishing in Kansas,(bass, crappie, etc).....there's great trout fishing in Missouri. But none to compare with the fishing in South Dakota...one of my most favorite places in the world! Along with the people, and land. But DON'T GO TELLING EVERYONE! They'll all show up and it'll look like Bennett Springs on opening day!!
Spearfish Creek can be pretty tricky (or the fish picky). Sounds like you found the magic fly du jur. By the time we get there,in two weeks, they won't want anything even remotely like it!

Oh, no, JC. I'm trying to discourage fishing there!

By all means, stay away from the Black Hills. Ugly, dirty, too many people, not very friendly area. Please, don't fish there!!

Good "Bull Fighting" on Castle Creek, and in some areas, you might have to watch out for Bison, while Fly Fishing. Remember "Bison and Angry Bulls, always have the Right of Way!"

You have to try the local delicacies, such as "Wedge of Lettuce". "Wedge of Lettuce" is just what it says on the menu. It is a wedge of Iceberg Lettuce, with no salad dressing.
