Hey Everyone- I think fish are dumb. They dont know food when you put it in front of them! And that's my argument when I dont catch fish.
Bluegill Budd- Hmmm... You bring a good argument. If you ask me it's a matter of personal preference. I'm more comfortable in a kayak, because I'm farmilliar with them though. I also have never used...

Yup, I tried nymphing on the Madison and Packsaddle, Nothing. I used size 12-16 Zug Bugs and Beadhead Prince Nymphs. I'm not saying I didn't get strikes, but not a hook up. Most my strikes were on...

Hey Everyone- I just got back from a "Family Road Trip" (AKA Fly Fishing Trip), to Montana, Wyoming, and East Idaho. I fished on a small creek in Idaho, near Driggs, called Packsaddle Creek the first...
Hey Everyone- I have a question. Do you think that steelhead in saltwater would be like coho and strike at a popper? Just wondering. I've caught SRC's on large dries, and I was gonna try this out....
WarrenP- Actually, yes. I watch the shallows of lakes to scan for fish and bugs before I fish. So, one day I saw a boatman, and a trout just sucked it right up. I have also caught numerous fish on...

Hey Everyone- I had a question on the Universal Fly. On the description of how to tie it, it says "Dress it." Does that mean dub it or what. I'm down on my Tying Lingo.
Thanks for the help....

I agree with JC. At Rocky Ford Fish are almost always at your feet. I never caught any of them, but I have hooked up on them and they have swirled at my fly.

JC- No, I didn't catch anything at The Ford. Hooked up plenty of times, but broke the tippet (I was using 6X). It was still a great trip, though.
I understand that carp are considered pests in...
I just got back from fishing in Central Washington, Rocky Ford and the like. Anyway, I was driving around the Potholes Reservoir Wildlife Area looking for a good place to toss a fly at some Crappie...

Hi Everyone- I'n a-goin' to Rocky Ford on April 8-10. I am a kid planning this trip for my Dad and I and cannot find any resources on this exact topic. Does anyone know if Rocky Ford has campgrounds...
I'm just about as far as I can get from you in the Lower 48, but my Godfather just moved up there. His girlfriend sent me a Horrocks-Ibbotson rod from Utica.

I have the SAME PROBLEM! It gets pretty annoying. I just keep a positive attitude. Then I moved to salt water and couldn't keep fish of my fly. But I am still pretty stumped about freshwater. And for...
