Hi,
I'm looking for a good pair of polarized sunglasses. I've been looking at Costa Del Mar and Maui Jim glasses, but I'm not willing to pay $200.00 dollars for a pair. I know that there are many...
Instead of a soft hackle collar try adding some rubber legs for an even better fly in my opinion.

I also caught a fish like that a couple years ago at a trout park in Missouri. I never could figure out how that happened.

I would highly reccomend a Winston WT 8'0" 3wt. I do not own this rod but hope to soon. I also like the Winston LT 7'9" 3WT, its a little faster than the WT rods. Make sure to cast the rods first,...
That's a really cool idea, I'm gonna make one tonight if I can find something to use as a screen.
Ive heard a lot of great things about those fly traps. I know what you mean about losing flies, every trip a few of mine dissappear off the patch.
The sparkle emerger yarn is not twisted at all. I think it is probably different from what you are using. Sparkle emerger yarn is made by Hareline Dubbing Inc. It only cost $2.25 and is enough for...
I think I'll just stick them back in the foam and see how they dry, and if that doesn't work I have a bunch of other ideas now.
Thanks.
I've been thinking about getting one of those Wonder Dry fly patches just for cdc because of how hard it is to get dry. I probably will pick one up now that I know they work.
I thought about...
Another thing you could try, is to use sparkle emerger yarn. It seems to make a better bubble for me. You can buy it from www.feather-craft.com.

I just got a new fishpond chest pack for my birthday, but it does not have a patch to dry my flies. The one on my simms vest worked great but it was built in and I cannot remove it. If anyone has a...
Normand thanks for the patterns they all look really simple to tie. What sizes of midges should i expect. I am guessing size 20-24?
JohnnyB I am planning on fishing right bellow the dam some, and...
I will be taking a family ski trip March 18-23 and we will be staying in the Silverthorne area. While reading my Fly Fish America magazine I noticed that the Blue River was listed as one of the best...
Thanks for all the help. For some reason I did not even think about calling the company. I'll talk to them and make sure it will not harm my line. I don't know if the line color makes a difference,...
I have a peach fly line and i was wanting to dye it a darker color. Has anyone used the Rit dye or any other type? I was also wondering if this would hurt the line in any way.
Thanks,
Austin
Bgreer thanks for correcting me. For some reason St. Charles MO was the first thing that came to my head. Actually I didn't even know there was a St. Charles in Illinois.

My favorite Missouri trout stream is the Current River, its about 40 miles from Rolla. It is probably a 3 hour drive from St. Charles.

What streams were you fishing?
I made my first trip their this summer and loved it.

I found this cast to be very useful in the Smokey Mountains last week. It worked great on small creeks where no other cast would have been possible.

Mr. Blur I do tye mine with wings, even though I don't think the fish care. I thought it would be easier for someone just starting to tye dry flies to leave off the wings untill they perfected...
I would also recommend a bigger griffiths gnat or an adams, but don't worry about tying in the two wings.
I will be sure to bring my waders along just in case we do have a few cool days. My boots are felt soled so it looks like I should be in good shape. Thanks for the help.
