Maybe I'm missing something but when I read the article it shaped up how I would have guessed. In the final results the order is Sage Z-axis, Loomis-GLX, Tom Morgan, Scott G2, Winston BIIx, and then...

I received this bag as a gift, and I just don't think that it will work for the type of fishing that I prefer to do. Its brand new, never been used, tags still attached. Retail price is $149 I'll...
Dave,
That's a pretty impressive day, 6 species on the fly, and by the sounds of it all good sized as well. I think I might need to move up to your neighborhood ;)
I'll agree with ol' blue on the Dan Craft suggestion. A lot of bang for the buck. I built up the the sig III 0wt 2 years ago that I absolutely love for bluegills. I only use my 2wt now if the wind...
Dave,
He hit on a pattern called a Boudreaux. Its just a small panfish fly that I was trying out for the first time. The catfish was a lot of fun on the 2wt. Its kinda funny, last year I caught 7...
Dave,
I completely understand the skunkaroo feeling. I was hanging the big 0 for my first 3 trips this year. I think my biggest problem was Hidehunter catching all of those big bass and so I...
HideHunter,
Your killing me with your pics. I haven't had a chance to get our yet, and seeing you pull in big bass is just rubbing salt in the wounds ;-)
A couple of questions for you. How deep...
What are everyone's thoughts on possible locations for an Iowa warmwater get together? Do you prefer a large lake or multiple smaller ponds? What area of the state(central, SE, SW, NE, etc.)? Any...
The fly actually doesn't cast too bad on my 7wt. Like you said you don't have to cast as far at night, but I can still make all of the casts that I want with this fly. I think it actually cast much...
HideHunter,
If you haven't been out night fly fishing for bass your missing out on some off the greatest fishing I have every experienced. There is nothing like the sound off a big bass smashing a...
HideHunter,

The bass toad is a...
To limit it down to two flies is too hard for me, but I will share some of my favorites. During daytime hours I have been most successful catching bigger fish on following patterns. First is a...
I saw Fred's tutorial on his website last year. Even though my bullfrogs weren't anything near as nice, they did catch a lot of nice fish for me last year. The best part about this fly in my mind...
Just finished wrapping a 8' 3/4 tiger eye. Great little rod. I thought that it threw the 4 wt wf a little better than the 3. I think that you will be happy either way.
Good to see another member in Iowa. Its always nice to hear local ideas and success stories.
Temple Fork professional series has a 8' 2wt. It is a really nice rod for the price.
i would like to thanks everybody for the great flies and a special thanks for greg for hosting. I can't wait to try them out. I am sure that many smallies will fall victim soon.
Clint
