Thanks for all the great input! I'm headed out to cast it in a few days along with a few other rods as well. It's a beautiful rod and at the price I hope I like it. Thanks again!

Cool. Thanks for the input. It's a pretty rod but seems like that's all it's got going for it. Probably the reason it's still on the shelf. Thanks again.

Has anyone had any experience with these rods? I know they are discontinued and that's about it. I'm looking at a 9' 5wt 3 piece. It's a good looking rod but haven't had a chance to cast it yet. Just...
Unfortunately the 7 1/2 footer is my sons so that puts me at 2 rods. I hope that doesnt disqualify me.
That would be me. 1 7'6" 5 wt, 1 8'6" 5wt, and 1 9' 6wt. I always keep looking at other rods but funds and my indecisiveness keeps my rod count down to 3.
The next poster will have caught a...
A friend sent me this. I've never seen a trout or any other fish like this one. Let me know if you have.

I've only gotten to use a few bamboo rods over time but these rods seem really interesting. Has anyone ever used one? I think the technology employed is pretty amazing. I have no idea what the cost...
Thanks for all the input. I think I'm going to pick up one of Mike's rods soon to see if I can add bamboo to my list of fly fishing vices. Thanks!
Repost from FAOL board:
I see alot of bamboo rods "remade" into new rods using the tip and mid sections of an older rods. Is this a common way to salvage an otherwise unsalvagable rod? How does...
Sorry I didn't post a follow up. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/frown.gif Thanks!
I saw this pattern tied on an episode if FlyFishTV a while ago and not seen the pattern since. I've tried searching online and short of purchasing the video I have not seen the pattern anywhere. Does...
Thanks for all the great info. That's what I love about this place. I think I'm going to try to tie the Rainy's Snail in a weighted version. Maybe wrap some fine lead around the shank before mounting...
I found this gallery of wallpapers that I like alot. [url=http://www.ariverneversleeps.com/backissues/screens.shtml:1e957]http://www.ariverneversleeps.com/backissues/screens.shtml[/url:1e957]
I guess with all the emphasis on bugs and other invertibrates I never thought trout would eat a snail. On my last trip to the White river the most successful pattern I used was a size 14 olive bead...
I guess maybe if Dave brought his tying materials along you might get some great tutoring. Other than that, I don't see you getting alot of fishing done. If I really wanted to spend some time with...
Just to keep all who are following this on deck, I received my refund from Troy for the vise I never received. I wanted to thank LF and JC for their efforts in helping everyone involved. I hope that...
I think you did the right thing. Common courtesy is fast becoming a thing of the past. If they were using the techniques you described they might have been less than receptive to your interference,...
It was only $40 and I almost feel petty about starting this thread to begin with. I guess I was just thinking every crook starts small and moves up until he gets busted. He hasn't been back so...
Well, I suppose it was bound to happen. I have finally been burnt by the boards. I responded to a great deal on a decent piece of equipment. All the previous transactions conducted by this individual...
I've recently found a couple of Wright and McGill graphite fly rods for sale at incredibly low prices for the componentry on them. They have spigot ferrules which seem to be found on mostly high end...
I am getting ready to buy a new rod. The question is that other than personal preference is there any noticable difference between a spigot or a sleeve ferrule? I've always had rods with a sleeve...
A while back on a local news station a PETA member was voicing her concerns over a local deer population issue. The host asked her if she had any pets which she calmly replied, "Why, yes I do and...
Just got back from there not long ago. Heading back in October after generation has subsided a little. Hope you have a great time stirring up those huge browns!
