With my fly (Toms BWO) you fish it like a normal wet or dropper fly.and the bluegill love it if you let it sink without moving it.
Works for me!

Hey Char I sent them with a return envelope and $5.00 if there is any change left over just keep it :)

Char: I just tye the feather butt first and wrap it clockwise.

teachmarkey: I love using starling feathers,there free and look great.
Plus the bird has different sized feathers.
But the shafts break easily easy.
