As was stated above by J Castwell the rod you choose should be dictated by size/wieght/wind resistance of the fly you intend to cast. A 4 wt rod is awesome for bluegill/crappie etc sized flies....

Yeah Gander is great. I actually had to dig through a shopping cart to try to find a package of streamer hooks. Because the guy behind the counter was WAY to busy doing nothing to help me find them....
I agree. Very pleased indeed that so many anglers choose to release thier fish to be caught another day. Perhaps we are learning to be better stewards of our natural resources!
I think it sounds pretty solid. I generally think one is much further ahead choosing the rod to the size flies one is likely to cast. I do a lot of smallmouth fishing and have not found a rod lighter...

Wish I could feel sorry that you're getting freezing rain. But, All the warmwater is hardwater here. Just hafta make do with trout and the knowledge that there are steelhead in the tribs...
