Frying magic
Need/want a 908-4, tip-flex. JOHN
go to ambergiscaye.com and register for the bulletin board. Pescador posts a weekly lodge report. Although a "homer report" it'll give you an idea of what they are doing.
Tibor discontinued the model a few years back. I lost mine and it was hands-down my favorite 6-7wt reel. Still have a spare spool. I'd prefer black. PM me. Thanx, JOHN
My favorite reel. Good news is that the last fish it caught was a 24" rainbow on the Copper River in AK. Bad news is that the lodge burned to the ground the next morning. Still have another spool...
DG has it right--windstopper over the brimmed ballcap.
Taking it back to the original post-'cuz I too am short of understanding. Is there a difference between "furled" and "twisted" leaders? The latter I am familiar with.
Len, that's a great narrative. There's more cool stories and history's in nursing/assisted care facilities than anywhere else.
...I've found it more than worth while, in a new area, to hire a guide.
Good idea. Alternatively, when you tie your uni, or blood or whatever tippet knot, leave the down fly portion long. You can fish it w/o weight and the tag won't interfere with anything. Or you can...
I really like a 6 or 8 straight shank hook, gray petite Estaz, small/short marabou tail, weighted hook shank, and small bead-chin eyes.
I bought it new 10 or so years ago. Includes original marroon bag and a parts/retrieve conversion sheet. Currently set up left hand retrieve. Reel is gloss black, has very minimal boat rash, and...
I've had a pair of Flats Sneakers for better than 10 years. As saltwater wading footwear they're seldom used. I like them as a SW boat shoe. Great stability on the deck, plus ankle support. I...
PM on the T3
Well I tried to send a PM, but your box is full.
I'll take it. PM being sent.
On the will topic, some state statutes actually have simple wills, in full, in them. WI for instance has approved will forms, healthcare POAs(living wills), and financial POAs.
On a kinda tangential...
If you buy "lead-free round wire", get youself a couple of extra scissors. Darn stuff will ruin every tying scissors you have.
...but was your casting better?
I too want my fishing partners to have success. I think your post points out something important. Despite the threads that go on and on about casting not being important, it is. That and line...
Try this: At the forward cast stop, also rotate your wrist counterclockwise-not much, just enough so your thumb finishes pointing at about 10 o'clock. This seems to get the rod tip out of the way,...
One tidbit you should know is that Belize is in Central America, not So. America. Check your tickets
Just an observation, but seeing fish(esp. on the flats) is to a large extent a learned skill. No pair of glasses will replace that. They certainly help, and are necessary, but not the end-all, be-all.
I've flown CO and AA to Belize through DFW and Houston multiple times. Always carried rods/reels on board.
Mark- the series LF posted is great info. Unfortunately, since 2001 the island has been on a development tear. The population has tripled w/o the infrastructure to support it, streets have been...
