Looks like all the flies are in. I'll get them sorted and shipped out by the weekend.
Flies received from Gigmaster. I know those wings are a pain in the rear but I think they will catch fish just fine. Just waiting for flies from branhap which are on the way and I will get them...
Thanks for checking in branhap , I think we all understand how things come up sometimes , no problem at all. Has anyone heard from bdesavage? I haven't seen him post on this thread since the start.
Flies received from Sjo. Very nice , traditional , perfect wings , great proportions...excellent!
Alright folks , we are well into August and I just wanted to check on everyone's progress. I have gotten most and a few others are on the way. How is everyone else doing out there?
I think your just being hard on yourself Gigmaster. You always tie great flies and I'm sure they are fine. None of us can be Don Bastian or Davie McPhail unless we keep trying and keep tying and then...
For me one good tip was Davie McPhail's "measure and pinch" method of mounting the wing's. If you watch his video's on wet flies you know what I mean. I picked this theme because it was a challenge...
Just received flies from Gmac209. Holy cow! , these are some beautiful married wing flies. You really outdid yourself on these Gmac and I thank you for such a great effort for this months swap. I...
Flies received from Icemanxxxv. How's everyone else doing?
Welcome aboard rawfish. Nice to have one more in the group. Who's hosting for August?
Wow , that is awesome. Great looking fly.
Thanks Rick and nice job. How's everyone else doing out there? This thread has been very quite as of late.
Flies received Rick Z. What pattern is it?
I would say it's pretty nice. My only thoughts would be to use a shorter shank hook which in turn would call for a shorter wing. They just look more traditional that way but it's not a hard and fast...
Flies received billhouk. Very nice job and I think they would look fine in a shadow box. How's very one else doing out there?
I think a couple of coats of Loon's hard head black give a good effect. I read one guy uses black nail polish like Sally Hansen.
Since my pattern choice was a little different I started the thread early to give everyone plenty of time , including myself. I'm still trying to get my own pattern just right.
Gigmaster , here's one more good step by step with good information on the wings.

Here's another good step by step.

I usually buy the feathers that come in pairs so you get a single feather from the left wing and one from the right. A good quality pair or set will be exactlly opposite each other in size and shape...
Billhouk , thanks for the extra link , thats a good one that I forgot about. Gigmaster, sorry if I picked a headache for you but I am no master at these myself. One of the reasons I picked this...
Gigmaster has given me the nod to host for July and I just wanted to get started. I really like classic flies so for this month I have chosen winged wet flies. I think most people know of Ray...
