I'm always thinking trout.

I would first try olive marabou ...shorten the tail and make it more pointed...perhaps make the body fuller...olive emu....suspect there aren't a lot of choices...

MM, I'm always on the lookout for dragon and damsel fly nymph flies.....I think you are right ....modify the tail .... change colors.... and there you are.
