the clearwater rod is not a decent replacement for the silver label...the silver labels are much better.Dont accept their offer!
Please just list your fav flyrod and one other flyfishing accessorie that you couldnt live without.
Please just list the 2 products...no explanations why!

I own both the Xp 5wt and the Redington Cps 5wt.Both 4pc.
Finish quality on Cps is almost identical to the premium Xp...both exceptional.
Cork of Cps is as good as any premium rod.TFO cork quality...
Can anyone recommend some good books,dvd's for flycasting?
I was wondering what difference fly line colour makes on catching fish.Does a bright line eg.white,flouro orange prevent strikes by fish?Does a camo line catch more fish?

I cant get hold of any Wulff line in South Africa.Ive heard very good things about the Snowbee XS line.Think i might try that
I feel the rod loads great at short distances with the Grand up to 50ft.The problem for me is those 90ft casts and you have all that line in the air,it just feel overloaded for me.

Just purchased the Sage xp 5wt with a 5wt Rio grand line.
When the head is out rod feels a bit overlined.
Anyone else feel the same?
I have two top end rods whose cork is not great.There are quite a few holes in the cork.Is there any kind of filler i can use?

The reason i posted this topic was because i live in South Africa,and Sage rods are usually imported directly or sold by one shop which sells them at a ridiculous price.
A lesser known shop is now...
As with any product such as a pair of Nike or Adidas trainers,has anyone ever heard of a fake Sage or Loomis rod produced and sold as the original?

Thanks for everyones viewpoint.All very interesting indeed.I have two points though.
1)A high end rod is superbly finished with top quality components etc.The cheaper ones do not.They are far nicer...
There are so many things that need done around the house and to my vehicle that $600 would fulfill.
How do i justify buying a premium rod for that amount? Does anyone else have the same problem as...
If the boron is just in the butt section,is the majority of the blank made of a high modulus graphite like say a 57 million modulus?
