I have a 6 wt. Power Matrix. I like it. It was my go to rod for bass and even trout until I got my Zero G.
Thought I'd pass along a bit of my experiance with Orvis. A while back I bought one of their Power Matrix fly rods; it's a mid level rod. It was near Christmas and they gave me a Battenkill reel to...
I don't agree with #2. My spike is phat.

I believe I had an injury similar to yours. Mine was severed tendon, torn bicep etc. My first surgery was two years ago, second a littler over a year ago and now they say the shoulder...
I am always wondering why the Grey Ghost doesn't make peoples lists. Gaddabout Gaddis used pretty much only the grey ghost and since seeing him useing it I've caught more fish on it then any other...
I fished with cheap rods for a long time; loved em. This year I got a deal on a top of the line rod so I bought it. I'll never go back to the cheap rods again even if it means paying full price for...

Lead is mined from the ground so how are they going to get it out of the environment?...
Made at Orvis in USA. Fact I think you can tour their rod buiding facility in Manchester.
One of my favorite flies for small streams is a variation on one I found here the SHWAPF. I tie it with different colors of buck tail and matching colors of flashabou on the body.
I have the mid flex Zero G. I also have a couple of other cheaper rods with a tip flex. I guess you're right in the thought of the tip flex being with distance in mind unless you're trying to suit...
shorthaul: I belong to the " book clamped to your side with the elbow" thing. Didn't always; but wrecked my shoulder and can't move the elbow much any more. Having to re-learn to cast. Casting...
montana moose: This is my first expriance with a high end rod. :-D
The rod I got is the Orvis Zero G 8'6" 5 wt mid flex.
pszy22 All of the above. Plus it is so light in the hand it is effortless.
I recently got a deal on an expensive fly rod. Never wanted to spend the big bucks before; and I believed like some others that there couldn't be that much of a difference in a high priced rod and a...
I also recomend Mel Krieger. Orvis carries his vids on line.
Don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but a poplar sappling makes a great staff. Just cut one down to your likeing and let it dry. They dry real light and are strong and last. You can always...
Sounds like I did okay. I checked back after getting this one and there were no more available on line. There were two available in 5wt at the Manchester VT store last I checked; those interested...
I stumbeld on the Orvis Zero G in 5wt mid flex for sale on their web site for $185 regulrly $625. I have one of their cheaper models that is pretty good so I thought I should grab it even though I...
