I too love small streams but find that though the fish are skittish, they are very opportunistic and will attack as soon as a dry taps the surface...a "whopper" from my secret spot!...
With a graphite rod in hand, I am on a hunt- fast and attacking.
Going to bamboo allowed me to enjoy catching fish. I finally slowed down to feel the boo load; the weight of a natural material...
Because I usually like to fish solo or split up w/my partner, I usually end up with pics of my hand and fish. Wrinkled wet hands is a sign of a successful day! It would be nice to get me in the pic...
A creek in the western slopes of the Sierra- nameless?
A day fishing with my brother in law who has the fishing bug as bad as I do- priceless....
Janus,
Good thread. Thanks for your considerate efforts. I'm not a smoker but make every effort to carry whatever trash I bring in, out. I even take trash I find out. Nothing worse than hiking...
Hey Joe,
Have you gotten that boat yet? I saw at our local Costco a toon similar to yours for less than $3 bills. Ok, ok it is orange- might be worth the $150 savings to sit on an orange boat....

Ahhh, chipped ham. Now that's lunch meat- my mouth is watering just thinking about a roll and mayo (and a Rolling Rock) with it. Man, I miss my old Latrobe! Good ol' days.
I remember going out to...
Works fine for heavy swimmers...4 yrs and counting.
Rinse well after each use and light maintenance when I remember.

Welcome!
Went fishing for the first time this weekend in nearly 2 months. Caught plenty barbless- enough that I lost count. However, most memorable event was gettin a #14 under my fingernail! ...
I can see it on:
- Deeper wading
A shoulder strap of your chest waders.
Button hole on a shirt.
Button hole on a chest pocket.
- Shallow wading
Belt
Belt loop
Old video tape boxes w/a strip of foam and double sided tape.
...or you can do like me a consistently practice long distance releases!
I love wooden vessels...yours is one of the reason.
