    casting a 5' or a 6'6 rod

    I'm looking into getting a 2wt or a 3wt rod cause i generally fish for panfish fish or smallmouth in creeks surrounded by trees so a shorter rod would suite me better. i'm debating between a 5' rod...

    I didn't put my hand out and smack it with the rod but i made sure i was completely stopping the rod on the forward cast and not only is the fly and leader laying out nicely but the length of my cast...

    No no i'm not getting frustrated, well maybe alittle bit but i'm already to much in love with it to care. Appreciate the help and will be trying them out tomorrow morning at the creek.

    casting for a beginner?

    I've just started fly fishing, and i seem to be somewhat getting the hang of casting but the problem i'm having is that when i cast a popper or anything weighing more than a dry fly i get the leader...
