Beautiful build!
Michael?! You're alive!!!!
Heck yes! Got to love a nice, simple, fishy fly. I would add a set of rubber legs to each side, personally. Have had good luck with a little beetle like than on numerous occasions.
Nice wipers!!!!
The one you tied looks excellent, in my opinion.
Keep the whiskers!
Looks like you could almost use them in place of pheasant tail for a different effect, as well. Slim, with a little "fuzz" and buggyness.
Hope you had a good one, Larry!
Those are very well done! Beautiful work...
NICE pike!!!!
So..... they say they're just like a Kentucky bass, and it is hard to tell any difference with the naked eye. So what's the big deal?
I use a glass 3-weight to cast a small Thingamabobber and #10-12 bead head nymphs all the time. That rod is medium action at best and handles it fine.
Dang Steve, sorry to hear that. We missed ya.
Dad and I had a great time, even though the catching wasn't very good. Now he wants a fly rod... :)
You land your own dang gar!
Was out mainly for white bass, chucking a new baitfish pattern.... didn't get so much as a sniff. I kept going smaller and smaller and ended up with a black pheasant tail under an indicator. Nothing!
Schooner, I was doing the same thing last night for awhile!
Might as well! I already have Friday off work.
Ohhhhh yeah buddy!!!!! Very nice fish!
Google "sea robin"..... they are cool looking!
36 looks like it might have some potential....
Gills and bass is the route I would go.
So from what I know, a sculpin is a camouflaged, bland fish, living in pretty darn clear water. To imitate them, you don't want to add a lot. No contrast, no flash....
Shad and minnows are not so...
Thread wraps and head cement work for me! :)
I know a great place to give it a try!
