once had the pleasure of fishing with a guide for 3 days out of 4. the day in between, he went out to a good spot and fished it with the point cut off the hook. the next day we went there with "real"...
oh, the imagination! thank you for a huge laugh this morning--which i needed! :-)
and i am soooo jealous...
well, it's a whole lot more fun to kayak around a small lake and catch fish than it is to work from the bank! everything went just fine, including the catching as well as the fishing. thanks for all...
update, in case you were wondering: found a lady-shaped PFD (yep, they make 'em!), have learned how to mount the new rack and get the kayak lashed onto it, have taken a test run out on the roads,...
Denny, tried to send you an e-mail per your offer earlier in the thread. Looks like cut and paste didn't let me get your addy right. Will try again. Thanks to Bob9 for the hint (see below)!
great idea! as someone who usually rushes off in all directions, i will take this advice to heart and rush off to the pond...;-) just trying to find a PFD that doesn't swallow me up. couldn't see...
thanks. yep, it's really light, and only 8'3". i can just lift it across my knees, or boost it up onto the rack. got a Thule rack 'cause the Yakima wouldn't fit the Ford crossbars.
definitely...
...and the advice given here has proven reliable in the past, so here is my first question: would my factory cross bars (FORD) be secure enough for a small, fat, 40 lb sit-in kayak mounted on Yakima...
but we Firefox users have discovered a problem posting pictures on another site. so today i used explorer to do the deed, and had to re-establish my user name and password when i returned to...
sold! thank you all!
never thought of using such a rod for bluegills on ponds. we do a lot of that in the spring to tune up our casting. upstream wet flies--i am so there...and now it's going to...
a question: if a 3 wt rod would mostly be used on small streams, what purpose is served by a 9 foot long 3 wt? not being confrontational, just genuinely looking for a good reason to use such a rod....
The photo, at least on my screen shows the deer hair on the top of the fly all the way to the end of the gray wool body. Perhaps it meant to say "Put it over the back of the fly..." Does this help?
if you really want to get people to buy tickets, add a cheap TV to the mix. everyone wants another television! it could be playing a DVD about fly fishing or fly tying or casting or all three. a...
we arrive at 4:45, and it took us every minute until 6:00 to set up.
folks got in line from 5:05 onwards, we noticed.
this year we had to be ready to offer paper ballots as well as electronic...
thank you all, you who went to the polls and stood in line and finally got to the check-in desk and managed to get past the Id requirements, whatever they were, and then stood in line some more and...
checking in from a close-in suburb of Washington, D.C.--7 inches of rain in 36 hours, biggest gust over the back porch measured 64 mph, but this time we kept our power. got the freezer all cleaned...
this morning's sponsor box shows David's business Tie The Fly. you should know that the link doesn't connect any more.
we will certainly miss him!
ah, well, health...much better you move. there are airplanes that take on anywhere these days, i understand, and kids love to fly! good luck!!
everyone's ideas of retirement differ, but as you get older, John's comment means more and more.
we stayed in place and fish locally, and take occasional trips to those amazing places on your...
a staff made out of a broomstick floats out of the way on big streams, is light, and strong enough for most of us. small streams (yes, i don't leave home without it) it's easier to have a folding...
Glenda the Good
Ross Rhythm, because i can take it apart and get the sand/muck out with one hand, and keep the fish on the hook with the other hand.
for some reason, i drop my rod a lot when unhooking fish, and...
narcodog, hon, there are now Tenkara guides...but it's a great system for when you don't want a guide!
it amazes me how much Orvis wants to expand the ranks of fly fishers--have you seen any of...
testing complete! gee, they sure were different, Best Fishing Buddy and i thought. Horse Fly has flown off my desk--eek! will pass it on later.
