I will be close...going to Jacks and fishing the St Joe for a few days. Maybe I can persuade the ole boy to mosey over that way for a few days. Time will tell.

Jack is doing well. Almost back to normal, what ever that is. He had a guide trip last Thursday. Talked to him about a week before that. Had a small stroke , but it was caught and treated in short...
The only knot I use to attach a leader to the fly line.

Just want to let you all know that the Michigan Fish Inn will take place June 23 to 30 this year. Same drill as in years past....Meet and Greet will take place at John Campbell's home on Monday,...
The Fish In will start on Sunday June 23 and run through June 30. The last I heard, there was 2 feet of snow on the ground in Grayling. Better just stay where you are for a couple more months John. ...
The Midwest Fly Fishing Expo is next weekend, March 9 and 10 at Mc Comb Community College in Warren Michigan. If you are planning to come to the show, stop in and say hi. I will have my booth set up...

For me, I like the week or 2 before the Hex hatch. By the way, if an 18" smallmouth is something you don't enjoy catching, just give me a call and I will take your place.
Brad
God only knows. The rumor is that 2 Health Departments are fighting for my services. I doubt if they can afford me. Time will tell. You coming to the Michigan Fish In this year?
Brad
Joe,
We will need a full report! (My apologies to Bill Cunningham)

Hey Mark
That's the wrong type of reel for the fish I'll be chasing. It will get wet in due course. Just retired so I will have some time to get a new bamboo built this winter.
I need something...
I just built a new 6 wt rod for bass and carp fishing and I am in need of a new reel. Does anyone have a suggestion for a decent reel that won't break the bank?
Hey Joe
Try steaming your feathers. It may keep them from being so brittle. Works for me on older feathers.

I vote for number 2! Just remember 2 things...the sports will cast better if they are using a Hog Creek furled Leaders and don't let them wear a bright yellow rain slicker!
Good luck Ole Buddy...you...
It is highly unusual that any brown that big will be caught in the light of day. Are they in the Holy Waters? Absolutely. I have seen them. Are they easy to catch? NO! Like John says, night fishing...
5 foot to 5 and a half furled section with 2 feet of 12 pound as a tippet. Tie on a fly and go fishing. Quit overthinking the process. it ain't that hard!
Brad
Sounds good John. If my count is correct looks like we will have about 9 folks attending. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Brad
I make what I call a "bi filament" leader consisting of 40 weight thread and spider wire. The spider wire stiffens up the thread just enough to turn over those big nasty flies.
Brad
Update on the Meet and Greet....
This will take place on Monday, June 25. The location will be JonCampbell's home located off of Whirpool Rd. I will let John post the actual address to his home....

I am willing to have another meet and greet. I will get with Joe and see what we can come up with. More details as we get things together.

Bill and I usually bring several bottles with us...strictly for medicinal purposes of course.
I did not know you still had those......
Would love to see you and Cary Betty. It's been way too long. Trying to talk Jack into making the trip, but not having a lot of luck.
