lots of folks use chains 6" to 12" length, then drag to controll your drift.

I Just went out and cast my new 7wt tfo ticr yesterday after lining it with rio's clouser 7wt line. I had a old unknown 8wt wf line on it and liked that better.

For SMB only I fish a 7wt on my waters wich are aprox 100+ yds wide, I have a couple 6's for creeky stuff and an 8 for big wind but 80 percent of the time I grab the 7wt. I just got a used TFO Ticr...
Any one try it? It tickles me that carp are being reconized as gamefish by a fly line manufacture. I hope the yuppies dont ruin this like they did when they started riding harleys.
I get on a small creek by my house. when I moved into the area several years ago I began fishing it for the SMB but the channel cats soon became very good sport and quite tasty from time to time.

Quick update, I ended up with another switch rod, a 10'6" Beulah 5/6. It does everything I need and then some, I've had an 8/9 for a while and the deal I got was to good to pass up.
I'm on there list since last winter, a guy over on speypages clued me up.
