Excellent build as usual, Steve.
Having a 21st Century fiberglass rod is justification too. What rods are you thinking of?
You must be talkin' about T.L.'s Synergy line.
Two handed (spey) casting with a single handed rod. Looks pretty doesn't it. The guy is a casting artist with a fly rod.
Keep the line under water tension and lot's of practice.
They're still pretty tough albeit lighter and thinner walls than the old '50 blue collar Actionglas or the Ted Williams Sears model. I don't know if a bead head would cause a major problem. I guess...
Get yourself a Steffan Brothers, McFarland, Southfork Rod Co., T.L. Johnson fiberglass rod or a good cane rod and some good line. Roll cast to your heart's content.
Am I not right Rockthief?
I love the black wraps with the red tipping. Especially the stripper guide spiral tippings. Great job Steve.
Happy Birthday.
I don't think you want to build one (spey) under 12'. Big difference between a spey and a switch rod.
I have a friend that is into two handed casting and fishing. He does have some nice Echo Dec...
Joe, look at a Kelly Gallup's Zoo Cougar or Sex Dungeon.

Where can one get the graphite grip?
John, you know that's all I use is marine spar. If you want to see some great work, look at Dave Lewis Performance Rods website. He's been using it for years....
There are dealers out there that do sell AAA or Fleur (sp?) grade. Top of the line cork. You deal with a reputable dealer and you get good stuff. Golden Witch, C&D Trading etc. You might have to wait...
I've had days like that at Yellowstone Lake, Henry's Lake, Hebgen Lake, Daniels Reservoir, Strawberry Reservoir, High Uinta Lakes, etc. But the good day's always outnumber the bad day's. If I could...
The point is the price. And non resident's getting stuck with mo' money, mo' money, mo' money to pay.I have nothing agains G&F Dept. But this is not the G&F, it's Parks and Rec. I talked to Damon...
Do you do any lawn or road casting?
I had some Cortland crack years ago, went back to the shop I bought it from and they replaced it. Other than that, my Rio, SA and TT have held up great. I agree...
I think the whole thing was pushed through way too fast. I don't mind paying but if I have a 10'6" boat, what's the difference between that and a 10' boat other than I have to pay for the sticker...
Tom Morgan designed them. And I think Kerry is contracted to roll the rods for Tom Morgan Rodsmiths. I think they're a tweaking of his glass rods from the Winston days (J. Kennedy Fisher blanks) and...
The JET was a hell of a rod, and I agree with the article of how smooth they were. I've had the pleasure to throw the new Hardy's and they are different than the JET in that they are a little faster,...
As I understand it, Ron and Vickie Eagle Elk knows who this guy is.
I've seen it too.
The guy knows how to cast.
I bought some orthodonic rubber bands and they work perfect. Two different sizes 3/16" and 1/8". Works great for snakes, should be a walk in the park with single foot.
How do you artificially control the price of your product? If Winston says you, as an authorized dealer, will retail a 5W BIIX for $XXX.XX how is that artificially controlling the price? Sage, T&T,...
I must have had a brain ****. Snake Brand has black nickel silver guides too. I've used Snake Brand for 99% of my builds for some time now. Just haven't ordered black or blued guides from them....
Anglers Workshop Joe. Hopkins & Holloway black snake part #HSSGB but they're expensive.
Flip up hookeeper is BHKM
Maybe there are some less expensive black snake guides out there. I built a Lami 3...
