the redingtons seem to be a good deal, as do the ross's.
there was a time when rods carried multiple weight designations. rod building wasnt projected as an exact science. I still think most rods are capable of handling different weights, but marketing has...
for the past few years the dog and I have been going to michigans UP on a camping/fishing trip. doing the tent thing. its great. its our time. I love fishing on Voelkers streams. and being remote as...
I like mine. they sure are pretty. dunno about the asian made ones.

I use garbage bags. I only wear neoprene's though. but I started doing this recently when my wader started leaking but the fishing was too hot to take a day or two off and fix them. should have...
when TUtv did a show on the PM last season I think, the guides had the trout named.
during the summertime, I have a huge bass that lives beneath my boat and boat dock. they get caught several times...
that sucks. he was diagnosed with cancer last winter as I recall. at least he had one last summer on the Au Sable.
a lot of it seems to be marketing. they market fly fishing now as lifestyle more than a hobby. and as such, some people wont flinch at some of the ridiculous prices.
that is terrible.
I met his at the CMNH trout club a while back. he was insanely hilarious.

That was touching, Jeb. it reminded me of when I stared flyfishing, about 30 years ago. in my area, very few people flyfished or even knew what it was. but, after saving up for my first rod and reel...
thanks for the info. I was never one to worry about warrenty. they break sometimes, but its usually my fault. or in the case of the broken rod this will be replacing, the dogs fault. think I'll go...
about to pull a trigger on a Sage XP from Babelas. but Mudhole has Gatti blanks on sale, and I like building my own rods, so I'm now thinking of going that route.
our rivers have become loaded with them. a few years ago they were a rare sight, not anymore. every stream I fish has them. the dog loves them, he spends hours swiming after them.
its the otters...
thanks for you help. I'm looking for both versions. I really wanted to see the recent Au Sable one, as I'm heading in that direction next week. Unfortuntaely I forgot to DVR it. But the older ones...
anyone know where I can purchase back episodes?
I've got two news glass rods, a steffen and a diamondglass, and a few older ones. heddon hardy and a fenwick. the hardy is nice. it's a 7' sceptre. but like most older rods, they threw heavier lines...
that's funny.
both rainbows and browns should be eradicated when the native brook trout populace are threatened by them.
I like newer glass rods for the most part. they come into their own on small streams. beyond a 5 or 6wt that I feel the rods get clunky and heavy.
he just went through this last year. :(
I first met him in the early 90s at a local trout club where he was the guest speaker. he was lively and entertaining. he was great.
