I amazed the folks at the Michigan 'Fish-In' with an opening...
Very well said on all fronts (and rears and sides...lol)... and that outfit or one very similar to it would be what I will be looking for when I can afford to upgrade from the shakespeare I have...
No bees here.. Id say you got what you wanted and will in the long run make very good use of the money you spent.. that is not elitest .. that is just.. ummmmmmmm ... "high end practical"..... ...
I resemble that remark  (notice the wink)[/quote:a0daf]
Goddess... I would not call you snobby.. Id say.. from past conversations.. that you like most of us buy well within your budget.....
I think the bottom line on this is..
You buy what you enjoy using or can afford at that time...
I think what a lot of people get really upset about, myself included, are people who will not...
"FG...now you know that this is the ONLY way I can catch a fish...wakes up and lets them know dinner is here...like on the ranch ringing the trianle on the porch....

Amazing...the lakes I fish have large mouth bass, crappies, bluegill, channel and blue catfish.. plus... trout...

Luckily both of the lakes I frequent are water resevoirs and neither allows water sports like skiing. Boating is limited to fishing boats and on the one lake you can only rent electric motor boats....
I absolutely agree with you on that point. Several weeks ago I was fishing a favorite lake from the shoreline. I was hooking mainly small bluegills and crappies. All of a sudden all the tiny guys...
This answer makes me wish I had a good 3 piece rod but alas mine is not a StCroix :(
Thank you for clarifying the temperature question.
It never ceases to amaze me how much can be learned by asking a simple question.

Thank you for the clarification but you have to admit that a lake that carries the trout, bass, crappie, bluegills, and catfish is confusing especially to a newbie such as I. I do understand that the...
I would say the answer to your question is in the post by Jed earlier in the thread above...[/quote]
I saw that Mac...,"Trout can exist comfortably in water up to 70 degrees, Bass can exist in...

Thank you all for your replies.
I will stop in occassionally to see if there is anything on topic that has any relevance to what I am doing at that time...

I am thinking you are absolutely correct on that assessment. I just dont want to miss anything if I can help it. So that means when I come here I read warm water, faol, and fly tying.....
I am leaning toward the idea that we are basically talking about the same thing. One bb lists it as stillwater fishing and here it is warmwater. Both are all encompassing terms that I intially found...
First off thank you all for the replies. If my responses sound sarcastic they are not meant to be.
I dont want to miss reading/discussing/learning anything about this sport if I can help it.
I...
So a lake is considered to be warmwater??
so a lake with bass, trout, crappie, bluegill is considered to be???

I am a little confused since I am new to this sport. Can someone give me a definition of warm water vs still water or fresh water. I love reading the bb of this and another site. It is amazing how...
That is a very interesting angle I had not thought of. Thank you for that insight.
