Interesting article to ponder. I thought the answer of fly fishers when asked "How many more rods do you need?", is "Just one more."
We are landscaping our backyard. I was thinking of mural to cover a blank garage wall. I could only briefly describe my concept of a steel head jumping on its tail. Your picture does a much better...
Fishing Wife
"So, what's the matter?" asked one woman of her friend over coffee. "I thought you just got back from a nice relaxing fishing trip with your husband."

K7zb - nice video tribute for your friend. I'm also from the class of '67.
I tried logging on to FAOL several times on 4/22. I repeatedly got a page not found error. Other sites were working ok so it wasn't my connection. Did anyone else experience this?
It looked to me that Rosenbauer was recommending using the wading staff DOWNSTREAM, bu actually using it UPSTEAM in order to lean into it. Did I get this wrong? Which is the safefest way to use the...
This gave me a great laugh and should also be posted in the section SOUND OFF in the Need Some Laughs Here thread.
We need a LIKE button to let the posters know how much we enjoy their humor!
I hope you had a great day. I always enjoy reading your posts on FAOL.
Getting a taste via cyberspace makes it a lo-cal and non fat version but a little on the dry side.
Hope you can read the wording on this bear warning sign taken a few years ago. You need to read all of it. If you click the picture, it will be large enough to read. On a FF trip to Kodiak our guide...

Several members of my fly club often fish at Fuller Lake, near Emigrant Gap in northern CA. We share the fishing with an osprey. He's learned it is easier to grab trout after the fly fishers hook...
I've had some of the folding staffs get the tip stuck in mud and come apart, followed quickly by a splash. I like the solid oak with a crutch tip for wading. The idea of weighting it to keep the tip...
When I first read the title of this thread "Run Off 2012" I thought it had something to do with the upcoming election. Glad I checked - it is much more interesting.... and the ads really haven't...
Gary, there is also a Sportsman's Warehouse off Hwy 65 - Blue Oaks exit. Probably 5 miles from the Orvis at the Fountains. The flies there are le$$ than Orvis and look pretty good.
Allen, please recheck the plug when the kayak takes on water and you don't know why. Been there, done that, and now remember it.
Thanks for this post with good info that answered many of my questions. One additional suggestion I've read often is to point the boat to the section you are trying to avoid and row or kick away from...
Forgot the wife's birthday and that your anniversary is on the same day.
I was surprised to learn that rattlesnakes swim in rivers. Always thought they liked rocks and sun, not water. Then saw one swimming across a wide spot in the American River near Sacramento.
