Dudley - You'd know i if it's the 11 R; it was Herter's rotary vise - very large "true" rotary design. Cheers, Alec
I am interested in hearing from anyone else that owns a Herters Model 11R vise. Cheers, Alec

Hi Mike - That Micky Finn Spinner fly sounds killer. Remember - the English invented the "purist" ethic, and these flies are born in the USA! Tight lines Mike! Alec

Here, here. I too am a reel luddite. I don't even like rim control. How's 'bout a standard Medalist? They have a closed frame. So do the Hardy lightweights. There are also several classic repro reels...
Mike - My daughter is 5 and ties with me - she has been tying since 3. I place the hooks in the jaws for her and bury the point. No problem. I don't let her use a bodkin and make sure shj's careful...
Osprey and kingfishers will leave wounds too, on "the ones that got away". Alec
Sorry... yes indeed that's foxtail - silver fox. I also use red fox and have tied some with arctic fox as well - all excellent. The body fur is suitable as well, but only for smaller flies since it's...
Here's one tied with Silver Fox. Make sure you keep the underfur in for bulk. It's essentally a deceiver style fly tied with Fox - an excellent natural material with lots of movement in the water and...
Hi Kyle. I live on the Cape and fish alot for stripers. You will want to bring a 9 or 10 weight - I prefer a 9, and a good reel with a disc drag. I fish hard mono leaders, 9', down to 10 or 12 lb....
Hi Guys - I got my flies a couple days ago and man was I impressed. I hit the water this morning and both the Foxee Clouser and the Bully Bug have already brought bass to hand - well done guys!...
I have a pal that fishes a Raddison and it is indeed a fine craft. My only improvment would be to add a yoke thwart to make portaging easier. They are nice otherwise though. Cheers, Alec
