I looked at that taper and was going to run with it until a friend suggested the Duracane (sp?). He said that this one would be better for my casting style. I call him Yoda...he hasn't steered me...
That was my whole point. It says right on the BB, NO POLITICS! That is why it has always been a great site to come to where it was about fishing and not politics. Bamboozle- In what way shape or...
I don't argue that it could be or is liberal, I am questioning what it has to do with the story that you posted.
I believe that Mr. Boozle has a problem with the incoming President. I could be far off....but, I don't think so. It is interesting though that not a day in office and yet such loathing towards...
Boozle-
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand what was meant. By your "FUBO", I can tell that your a little on edge about tomorrow. FUB, I could understand.
I guess I don't get the title of the thread either? This happens in Texas as well as Seattle. I get that common sense could be applied, but that this person was somehow affiliated with the...
Fishbum-
I would love to cast it, however, buying isn't in the budget right now. I am trying to mass everything that I might need to build bamboo rods. That doesn't mean that we can't go fishing...
Thanks for the info. I might just give him a shout.
I use them quite a bit in the UP of Michigan. The brookies can't leave them alone. Not a bad fly for the PM during late August either. I tie them with either the calf hair or z-lon.
I was thinking the Orvis for the extra pop into the wind.
JC- When I build a bamboo rod, I definitely don't want that bounce. It seems like you would have less control when you need it the most. ...
Thanks for the suggestions. I will have to check into the Orvis taper. Sometimes I need a little more backbone when playing with a tarpon. Just north of Islamorada is where we get into some tidal...
I was thinking about building a 3pc. bamboo rod for bonefish. My brother lives in the keys and we have had really good luck locating some bones and "baby" tarpon. I am a little worried about...
That article is the reason that I prefer to spend my vacation $$$ in Montana rather than other surrounding states.

Those are the types of stories that I love to hear. It kind of makes you ponder what the world would be like if people just treated each other with the respect that we all deserve. It all starts...
I am just starting my first boo rod. I can't wait to figure out how to make something like that! You'll have to let me know when you make it up here, I would love to see it.

It looks like I have found the guy to contact. I will let you know how it goes. Looking forward to it. A little nervous that it might be one more thing to do with this sport that I will become...
Does anyone know someone in the West Michigan area that might be willing to take on a rookie and teach them the ropes of bamboo rod building?
Couldn't agree more.
Its a good thing that we have gotten some snow. Hopefully, we get some stain to the rivers. I was up there last weekend and they were still gin clear. Very spooky fish to say the least.
Rain, Snow and more snow to fill up the veins that pulse through the surrounding landscape that brings "life" to so many of us. That and a little peace and good will amongst human kind would go a...
Very low and very clear!!!
Not to mention it has been pretty dang cold. The fishing has been slow to say the least. Light tippets and small eggs have been the key to even have a shot. Good luck...
Makers Mark and a little more Makers Mark
With a bag full of fresh venison jerky!!!
Hopper-
Before I ask what river, bend, time of year...Could you give me an approx. age? :D :D :D J/K. I would definitely stay for "one more cast"!
My top five have already been mentioned.
Pale Morning Done- Hull
The Snowfly- Heywood
River Teeth - Duncan
The River Why- Duncan
Fly Fishing Through a Mid-Life Crisis - Raines
I would also...
Hey there-
I am somewhat new to this site, but really like the vibe it gives off. I would love to meet up with some of you at some point, but this weekend I already have plans to stand in the all...
