Try a snakeroll.
Your story makes no sense. I doubt that a 3# fish would exceed the design limits of any Sage rod. I broke a ZA switch on a 11# fish. However, I would bet I dinged the rod prior to catching the fish....
I do it to all my flies. Never had one complaint from a fish.
Yes, did both with no regrets. Lasik and hernia repair.
I had lasik and will never need reading glasses. You correct one eye for near and one for distant vision.
Gotta love Scott Sanchez flies.
First, I have not impugned any rod builder by name. If my passion for chasing winter steelhead with a fly causes me to be impatient, I apologize. However, my wait has now been over 6 weeks. No rod,...
It has been one month since I sent my custom Sage back to the builder. I believe that I have been more than patient. I have had rod repairs before but usually the rod is back in 7-10 days. I will...
Surprised that I am the only one splitting pheasant tails. A 24 hr soak was very helpful.
Sorry, but no. Just a boring fly tier and fisher. I needed that spool this Sunday for my first spey class. It has the Sage Indy line on it for my Sage 7110 which I have yet to cast due to my spool...
You know I did e-mail the dealer and Ross before posting. I can't believe that it was set up with left hand retrieve on the spool! (I have 3 Ross Evos and all came right retrieve which I consider...
Original spool works fine so it is not the rest of the reel.

Sorry, seeing patients. Tying Intruder by Ed Ward.
This is on the spool?
I got an extra spool for X-Mas. It free spools and drag does not work? Anybody ever have this problem? I don't see anything obvious and my original spool works fine.
Last night, I soaked the tails with conditioner in hot/warm water for hours. Then I tried splitting with a # 15 blade. Really not happy with the outcome. Small sections. Too little or too much stem....
Santa mentioned Renzetti when I handed over my list:
Simms- boots, waders and vest.
Sage- Z-Axis 7110-4
Ross- Evo 3.5
Matching line
Not worried about casting but effectiveness of the large patterns.
I stick to flyfishing only, unless I forget the rod. I fish with gearheads who coax me to the dark side but I am very stubborn....
Ross Evo on 3, 5 & 8wt. You need the evo on the 3 wt for the accidental chinook hookup.
I was looking at flies in the Cabelas FF catalog last night. Will hit the new store opening tonight but some of the flies are huge! Jumbo Critter, String leach, Pick Yer Pocket, Stinger Prawn, etc....
Medi-Pak. It fixes any tying mistake and my hook eyes are always clear.
I am a firm believer in using a staff to wade. However, I never bet my life with ANY staff. (I took two swims will using a staff last time out chasing steel.) Also, important is a buddy, to catch you...
I'm starting to tire of casting my 8 wt for metalheads but it has been a good winter. I can't wait for spring! I better pull out the 3 wt SLT and start practicing!
BTW, I thought I was the only...
