    Re: Penn's Creek Pa.

    BRULES,

Fishing for brookies with the water as low as it is right now is going to be challanging.....they are very easily spooked. We need some serious rain here.

It has been my experience that...

    Re: Tippet Material

And here I thought I was the only one in this world to pre-make their tippits and place them in small plastic bags, only I use a perfection loop and the one end.

Re: Best way to get into building bamboo rods?

    bazakwardz,

From my understanding of making bamboo rods, it requires all of the same tools and forms to build a quad as it does to build a hex. I understand also that it is no easier making a quad...

Bob Nunley, a well respected rod maker, sometimes jumps onto FAOL and he could give you some good insight.

Re: 40 Year Old Can Fly Rod

Nat Uslan did not make any 3 piece rods in the 70's. So that would date your rod back to his earlier days after WW II when he made both 2 and 3 piece rods.

Re: My FISH broke off...now what?

I have seldom throut hooked a trout. The only exception to that is fishing with a fly tied on a # 32 hook. It seems that even trout have a hard time detecting that the fly is artificial. Bass are a...

Re: Fighting a large fish/bass on a fly rod

I have no problem paying $1.50 or $2.00 a fly if they are tied well. Chris hit it right about most cheap flies falling apart after a short time...so, where's the economy in that?
