Thanks David! Keeping a consistent tension on the threads is tough, maybe I just need better tape but it just seems like they were moving around on me quite a bit. Thanks again!

Thanks herefishy!
That's an interesting way to think of it dunfly, I never would have thought crosswraps could lead to spooking more fish, but I definitely understand the tradition side of it.
]I'm going to be building a couple of new rods over the next few weeks. So, while waiting for the blanks to get here I thought I'd try something new. I don't see these types of wraps on fly rods too...
Where do you get your stripper guides?
Nice looking build!
Nice looking rod, good work!
It's a Olive Branch wrap where I twisted the silver around my main green thread. Docski has an excellent YouTube video on how to @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMm0EZURcss
Thanks for the kind...
Just before Christmas the brother of a fishing buddy of mine asked how much it'd cost to get a rod built. I was kinda in the middle of a couple of projects, and told him that, but he gave me the go...
I had some FlexCoat, it was almost solid when I opened it up.... Does it go bad?
Where do you get Color Guard?
Thanks for the info! I'd like to do something like this in the future.
Thanks again,
I've never used it but I just finished wrapping a rod in green thread that I'd like to keep as bright as possible, so what Color Preserver have you guys had good, and consistent, success with?
It looks great! Where'd you get the blank? Were there any other big differences between boo and graphite?
Thanks for the kind words! I feel like I'm learning a ton with every rod I build (every wrap I make really) and love doing it way more than I can afford!
Its a no label blank that I got from Hook & Hackle

I'm really excited to cast it, might have to...
It's coming along

Finally got started on this 8 wt. that I'm really excited about. Thinking Black with Silver trim - or - Black with Red trim for the wraps. Can't wait to get wrappin'. More to come!

Lucky family to have you building rods for them! Great stuff, keep up the good work.
Great lookin' rod! Congratulations
How'd you do the blue strips in the grip?
Great lookin' rod.
It's the female side of a "tip-over-butt" ferrule that's cracked. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for the suggestions so far!
You're turning out some great looking rods! Nice work.
