there was a huge blitz in scituate as well, the other day. i picked up 16 fish on a little clouser, but i didnt get a shot at some of the cows. how long do you guys think they will stick around?

Is there anything you can do to repair your flyline if it gets ripped and torn in certain areas?
Thanks and tight lines

I'm with Jed, clousers and decievers. There's no baitfish hatch that i have not been able to match with a clouser or a deciever. Sometimes you may find them feeding in a crap hatch or a worm hatch,...
I called them and explained the problem. It is a defect in the drag and they're sending me a new one. I have a spair crappy reel so i wont lose any time (maybe fish). They do have great service,...
thanks dave, i think im gonna do that.
Always a big help here on FAOL
Thanks again,
Chris
my drag on the llbean orion reel is very tight... at the loosest setting. It is so tight that every fish would break me off, and i dont know what to do to fix the problem. Anyone have the same...
Wrapping ultra fine lead wire would give you the most weight, and not necessarily make the body too bulky. If all you have is thick wire, then you should tie it along the side. I generally fish this...
wat kind do u use?
The lightspeed is very light, it has a reliable drag system SEALED FROM THE SALT. It is easy to clean and comes with a lifetime warranty. Both St. Croix and TFO make some nice rods, but the TFO's...
Dave,
Almost the exact same setting last night, friday. We were fishing in the evening and stripers were everywhere. They were blitzing on tiny bunker and we caught a good handfull of fish. It was...

Is this a good reel for saltwater fishing. I have not heard to much about it, but i have seen lots of people using it. Any input?
Thanks,
Chris
i know this has been asked a billion times but im gonna ask it anyways. What is the best saltwater reel for the its money. I don't care about the price. My reel doesnt work and the stripers are...
Well, if ya look on the bright side, atleast you can find fish. We Scituate men haven't seen a striper or blue in weeks.
Anyway, happy to hear about you missing work, sorry to hear about your rod....
Try incoming and outgoing tides around high tide. Sometimes night is the best time to fish, in which you use flies that push water under the surface, or poppers. Early morning can also be productive....
Thanks for the advice and reccomendations. I keep hearing more and more good things about teton. You guys can always give good advice.

Is this a good reel to buy for the money? I can get it pretty cheap, but since redington discontinued, i dont know if its worth it. I plan on using it for striper fishing. Can someone help me?
try whitlock's knotless connection. you can find directions for it online, and dave whitlock himself claims he has never lost a fish on it, including some really big game.
