Just finished up a 2 pc. 9ft. 8wt. This rod was built with a dual purpose in mind (Fresh and Saltwater). Built on a Sevier Saltwater blank with heavy duty strippers / stainless guides and reel seat....

I have a new Orvis WF 9wt bug taper, a 9wt triangle taper ,and a lawn cast 3wt fly line...
Like to trade for a decent 5wt .

Ron.... I for one dont consider you a "flunky" and please delete that term from your future articles! There are always people in the background that keep things running and most dont really...
Have also used this method , but make sure when you pull the threads tight that they stay lined up and do not crossover which is easy to do if your not paying attention.......Ed
This might help you. You can make 2-3- or 4 turn wraps with metallic thread. For a 4 turn wrap:........Wind the tread on as usual using 2 turns , then overlap (do not cut off the excess tag end)....
Thanks ...... Ed

Have a set of canvas topped hip boots ..must have caught a briar and punched a small hole in the canvas. What's the best way to patch canvas?
To answer your question : I would rate the forecast blanks as medium action. Not slow, not fast. A good starter blank that lens itself well to most new casters. .....Ed
LO.....I have built quite a few rods on Tiger Eyes. I've found (and I think others will concur) that the Tigers are somewhat under rated when it comes to weight ratings. They also are stoutly made...
Steve...... great matchup on the threads........gave that winston some zip! Nice job!!......Ed
