@FishinDave
I fished the MM in northern Ontario during the middle of the day and caught lots of fish with it like the one pictured. Even caught them on big bass poppers.

I'm planning a trip to the Sutton River next summer for big (5#) Brookies. Anyone have any experience there? Any fly / equipment recommendations?
Thanks
Best Wishes for a speedy - and full - recovery.

Ducksterman makes a great point. Another advantage of CCG is being able to seamlessly build-up or fine tune a head, for example, after the first application. I seem to be much more precise in appling...
I've used CCG for a bit now and love it. Very easy to work with, especially since you have much greater control over amount and location on your fly. It's also nice not to have to mix anything, and...

Well, you're hooked.
So now, this is what I'd do. I'd try to locate as many of the vises with the features I want and tie on them to see how they work for me. For example, some people...
You might want to contact the Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton (no affiliation). Very knowledgeable and helpful. The weather in Florida has been unusually cool and the water is cooler than normal...
I fish inshore and near shore around the Venice, FL area during the late fall and winter. The beauty of this area is the variety of fish you can target..........

I'm an infrequent poster, but regular reader of posts. I would be willing to pay an annual subscription fee to have access to the great information, good people and well-moderated site that is FAOL....
Sage still recommends parrafin

Good luck and have a great trip. I'll look forward to your report.
Best of luck. Looking forward to seeing your show!
Buddy -
I laughed when I read your post - it described me.
I still have some of the first flies I ever tied in my box - they caught fish, but they're sure not much to look at. My "improved"...
I'm certain there are none in hell.........
An enjoyable blast from the past......
Can't remember when I heard a fisherman (or anyone else, for that matter) use words like "zowie", "shucks", or "by golly".
Here's my $.02
in addition to some of the tips you've already received -
After you make your loose wraps and when you begin to increase tension, make sure you tightly pinch the hair between...
