This past spring a cow and calf moose came into our yard... a very common thing here... but one of them got hung up jumping the gate and left a LOT...

tlerm and Bob9 are the only two to request the moose hair... Just need a mailing address from each of you. The wait may be significant as the hide is THICK and it is wet...

This would be completely free, like I do with all sorts of stuff I get.

I just pressure-washed the skull yesterday to mount on a plaque. It is amazing what hot, high pressure water being run through a tiny nozzle will do...

By ridiculously thick I mean the hide is easily 1/2" thick!

BTW... The only hair packed out was on the head and I just skinned it today. The face hair is extremely nice gray/brown/black and very uniform length stuff that would be lighter than hock hair or...

That is why I have always cut my own meat. I am a meticulous tyrant in the field and hate finding ANY hair on my meat.

I will make a huge batch of moose jerky this time around... Great big...

It was a lot of work and the work is not over yet! We still have hundreds of pounds of meat to process... And I am not complaining!

I think moose hunting is...

I have had three different bears, two blacks and a huge Kodiak brown, die just off my boot tops, literally... the experience thing becomes over-rated at that point. ;)

A big bull at bow range with his hackles up because some fraud made sounds like his adversary is truly an adversary... and arrows take long enough to do their work that a guy might get a little...
