Byron,
Any mayfly hatch - adjust size as needed. As I tried to convey, the key is to be able to see the pattern when fishing into a glare. Without seeing the pattern, one cannot hope to fish it...
The Gosling is a traditional Irish lough pattern - with a proven track record on the lough - but should not be overlooked as a river pattern for Atlantic salmon.
...
When fishing dries into a glare, being able to see the pattern is often more important than the actual pattern fished. This is when a very dark pattern often is the best choice.

lastchance,
This is my pattern riding on the tail of Hans van Klinken's Leadhead, which I have fished for many a season.

The Tung is a cased caddis larva pattern which has the concentrated density to quickly reach the stream bottom where it can be mopped up by the trout and grayling with gusto.

Now for the $1M question - what stops it from flipping on its side every time it lands? Have you tried?
Cheers,
Hans W
Late at the party, Alan, but you are of course more than welcome

If I only had one, Allan, then I would pick the Tiemco 102Y. For me it ticks all the boxes for a general purpose dry fly hook.

Byron,
I like the pattern well enough, but best you give it your own name. It has a tail, a biot body, and a thorax - where the Improved F-Fly has to make do with just a lightly dubbed body, and...
Alan,
Have you tried the (Improved) F-Fly to match that hatch? Has worked quite well for me.

Alan,
This design works for me - a #20 BWO in this case:
