Farm ponds and municipal water resivores are my fave places to fish, close to home,flat bottom boat and a paddle, love to quietly ease around the edges and take'm off the top, lots of fun.
Bluegills just rock, love'm, even as a kid Id buy the cheapo poppers from the local gas station and fling them out with a spinning rod \ reel, gills would attack instantly, great idea for a thread.

The only places I can get materials that I can look at when buying are the big stores (cabelas, BPS, Sportsmans Warehouse), while back I read a few post about tyers using better grades of materials...
