my "short" rod is 8'6" ...if the conditions warrant shorter, i chock up on the base making it effectivly shorter.
i'd rather have one too long...you can't make a shorter one longer!!!...

Hextall...the river you mention is the Ramapo river it's open year round....the rail line actually follows it near Tuxedo/Harriman. it's with-in walking distance from either station...
